Wemos’ Board is in the hands of the director. The director determines the policy plan, which provides insight in the foundation’s activities, fundraising and spending, and management of our assets. In addition, the director is responsible for ensuring that the management costs are in reasonable proportion to the expenditure on objectives.
The Supervisory Board is tasked with supervising the board’s policy and the general course of affairs. Supervision takes place at two moments. Beforehand: plans, like the mission, strategy, policy plan and budget, are submitted to the Supervisory Board for approval. And afterwards: the Supervisory Board critically monitors management and the organisation, and assesses the financial statements and the annual report. The Supervisory Board also advises the Board.
The members of the Supervisory Board perform their duties without remuneration. They are appointed for a maximum of four years and can be reappointed for another maximum of four years. They internally appoint an audit committee consisting of at least two members. This committee supervises the financial state of affairs within the foundation and tests the functioning of the internal administrative organisation and control, in particular the payment organisation. Tasks and working methods of the committee are elaborated in an audit regulation.
The Supervisory Board usually meets four times a year. Wemos offers members an expense allowance of EUR 75 to attend meetings. Once a year, the Supervisory Board carries out a self-evaluation.
Wemos endorses Partos’ Code of Conduct.
