Global health advocate
As a global health advocate, Jorge focuses on lobbying and advocacy at the World Health Organization, the European Parliament and Africa to strengthen civil society participation in global health decision-making and policy.
Previously, Jorge worked at Corporate Accountability International to stop corporate interference on public policies at the United Nations and parliaments. Also, he executed the Bloomberg Initiative throughout the Americas with capacity-building strategies for governments and civil society organizations regarding the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control. Similarly, Jorge worked at the Senate of Mexico as chief of staff for the US-Mexico committee, and as a foreign policy officer.
Jorge holds a Master’s degree in Environment and Development from The University of Edinburgh, and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Universidad Iberomericana.
