On 27 August 2020, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate (EZK) responded in a letter to the House of Representatives to the report ‘Overpriced: drugs developed with Dutch Public Funding’ (SOMO / Wemos, May 2019).

Joint call to next European Parliament: ensure access to medicines

A group of 12 public health organizations from the European Union urges prospective Members of the European Parliament to safeguard access to affordable medicines. Wemos and Health Action International (HAI) jointly took the initiative for this call. We see that access to new medicines is increasingly under pressure in the EU due to sky-high prices. Read more

Reflection on debate Dutch global health strategy

Yesterday, the Committee on Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation debated the Dutch global health strategy. Wemos welcomes the focus on issues such as sexual and reproductive health and rights, and fair access to medical products worldwide, but also hopes that the incoming government will continue to recognize the importance of global health.
