New video: sustainable finance for health systems

25/1/2023 - Video

Some human needs are universal. For example, when we get sick, we want to rely on our health systems to provide us with the right care. Like having health workers who are well-trained and have the proper equipment, and being able to get the medicines we need without encountering financial hardship.

Therefore, strong health systems are essential to living a healthy life. They are also key for realising our sexual and reproductive health and rights, for example, having access to comprehensive sexuality education, contraception and services around childbirth.

To create resilient health systems that meet our needs, we need more and better investments in health. All across the world. Our new video explains this urgent need for sustainable investments. And it indicates what governments, global actors and civil society can do to ensure everybody can live as healthy as possible.

The video shows data from Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia, the countries where we implement our Make Way programme together with partners. The Make Way programme aims to break down barriers to sexual and reproductive health and rights and ensure that no one is left behind.
